TDA Style (Special Characteristics)
A warm education that places importance on the individual.
We respect the character and personal qualities of the individual, and the homeroom teacher plays a central role in providing detailed instruction and responding to individual needs.
Nurturing practical design.
We provide opportunities to learn design and communication skills in practical situations through industrial and academic collaboration programs such as internships.
Cultivating Sensitivity in the local Harajuku area.
Sensitivity, a must for artists, is cultivated through being as active as possible in the design-rich local Harajuku area, by conducting surveys and research, participating in learning tours and through sketching.
Proven employment record.
The strength of TDA is the high job placement rate comparing to other schools. The majority of those employed are working in specialized jobs related to design.
Extra-curricular courses and activities to meet the needs of students who "want to learn and experience more."
Highly motivated students, for whom the core curriculum is not enough, can participate in a wide variety of optional activities such as special seminars, student project activities and overseas training.
We are a comprehensive design school that understands the essence of design.
Since the school was first established 40 years ago, we have consistently worked on specialized design courses in higher education. In that time, we have seen many different staff members, a lot of know-how, reliable facilities, and the advantage of a high level of expertise that makes understanding the essence of design possible. All of this, together with the many inter-departmental exchanges, have inspired and nurtured imagination and sensitivity.
Developing both careers and communication skills as professionals.
In "Career Guidance," provided as part of the course, students learn communication skills that include an understanding of human and social nature, both of which are necessary for designers. At the same time, students gain an understanding of occupations and jobs.
